Dear ^fname^,

It's Thanksgiving already! Where has the year gone? Thanksgiving always bring to mind the things I have to be grateful for. I’ve had such a blessed life…fabulous parents, sisters and a brother that loved me, a career that’s taken me to 27 countries around the world where I’ve made wonderful friends like you. I’ve also accomplished most of my dreams...from the modeling and fashion world to a speaking career to becoming a best selling author and now a publisher. It’s been an exciting journey!

I believe all this has been possible because my mother taught me creative visualization at a very young age. She didn’t call it by that name. She just told me that if I believed strong enough, the beliefs would come true. My father told me that if I was willing to work hard enough and stay focused on where I wanted to go, it would come about. He also made sure I understood that I would probably have to give up a lot of other activities and things I might like to do in order to stay on the path I chose. So I dreamed big dreams, explored possibilities, set goals, and took action. It sounds so simple and yet often, it was so very complicated and even hard. But as I look back, I wouldn’t change a thing…for this life has brought me to a wonderful place.

Creative people are creative because they believe they are creative. It is important to affirm you are creative in order to anchor the belief in your imagination. Napoleon Hill said, “The imagination is the workshop of the soul.” I’ve learned that imagination is like a muscle. It can be strengthened with exercise the same as physical exercise strengthens your body. So during this holiday season as you look toward the new year, let your imagination soar. Change your angle so you view things from new perspectives. Make new connections. Shake things up a bit and take risks. Critics come in two forms – other people and a voice in your own head. Ignore them both when they attempt to be negative or tell you that you can’t do something, be something, go somewhere, or have something. Lighten up and have some fun. Enjoy the entire holday season and plan for a wonderful new year. Use your imagination to make sure your journey is an awesome experience!

You are more than enough,

Judi

What is Faith?

What is Faith?

Faith is the confident assurance that something we believe is true or something we desire is going to happen. It is the absolute certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though there is no tangible proof.

In today’s stressful world, people have a greater need for spirituality than ever before. We need to know there is a reason and a purpose for our lives. We also have a need to know we aren’t floundering about on our own. We must absolutely understand and know in our hearts there is a power in the universe bigger than we are. This power is with us and for us and gives us strength in good times and bad. It is always supporting, comforting, challenging, guiding, and loving us. Those without faith feel lost, empty, and alone – and the sad part is they usually don’t even know why they feel that way.

Faith is a very personal thing. This power is whatever it means to you. Many of us have different names for this power. How you sense, feel, and communicate with this power is your personal choice. Many of us believe as we do because we were born into our faith or we were taught as children to believe in a certain doctrine or religion. Many of us have been taught there is only one way to believe and to be faithful. I believe there are many paths to a spiritual awakening. I choose to call the power in my life, “God.” I also believe that whatever you call this power, whether it is Creator, Buddha, Creative Intelligence, Spirit, or Cosmic Consciousness, a higher power is there for everyone. Once you accept that there is a higher power and find your own expression of your faith, you will be amazed at what your belief will do for your confidence. This belief in a higher power gives us the strength to get through the tough times. It gives us the courage to face change and step out into new adventures. Courage is the willingness to maintain our faith, even in the face of all contradictions.

Tell Your Face

While attending a seminar to observe another presenter, I noticed a woman sitting in the third row with her arms folded tightly across her chest and a terrible scowl on her face. She sat like that all morning. At the break, the presenter, Carol, went over to the woman and asked her, ”Did you come to get anything particular today?” The woman didn’t change her body language or her facial expression one bit and curtly said, “I’m fine.” So Carol continued, “Well, if there is anything you think of that you might like me to cover, just let me know.” The woman again said, “I’m fine.” This went on with Carol trying to get the woman to be a bit more pleasant and the woman continuing with her curt, “I’m fine” answer. Then I heard Carol say, “Well then, why don’t you tell your face?” The woman burst out laughing.

After the seminar, I confronted Carol, “You are so lucky that woman laughed. How could you say something like that to someone in your audience? She is your customer.” Carol replied, “I don’t know. It started in my feet and it just worked its way up my body. Before I knew it, it was out of my mouth. I don’t have a rewind button. I couldn’t take it back.”

Later, when I was thinking about this, it dawned on me how often many of us forget to “tell our faces” we are okay. We get so caught up in our daily chores and challenges that we may speak to someone or answer a question without adjusting our faces. We need to be more aware of what our faces are telling others and change our body posture, demeanor, and facial expression to look like that of a happy person. It’s called “acting as if” or “fake it until you make it.” The very act of changing to a more positive outward expression will make us feel better inwardly.

Make a list of all the things you have to be grateful for. Write a personal handwritten note to anyone you want or need to tell how much you appreciate who they are or what they have done. Then write a note to yourself and tell yourself how much you appreciate who you are and what you have done to bring you to where you are today.

What Judi's Coaching Clients Are Saying

Thank you

Kathy Jo Pollack Life Choices: Putting the Pieces Together” was my first book endeavor. Working with Judi Moreo/Turning Point International made it a rewarding and enriching experience that I will always cherish. From the time I met Judi, I knew she was very special – with heart and integrity, and I hoped to have the opportunity to work with her. That was before I even knew about Life Choices and Turning Point International. After meeting her and hearing about Life Choices, I knew that I wanted to be a part of this special book. Judi is terrific to work with; she treats her authors with the highest degree of respect. She keeps her authors updated and is always prompt and helpful with answering questions. Working with Judi has been a wonderful experience from start to finish, and it would be a privilege to work with her again.

Derick Poremba-Brumer “It was a pleasure to submit my piece to Judi and Turning Point for the book, especially because we were – quite literally – half-a-world away from each other! But the world has become ‘a village’ IF YOU HAVE INTERNET ACCESS and IF YOU ARE ABLE TO WRITE CLEARLY AND CONSISELY! Luckily, Judi has this talent...

The pleasure was compounded because it enabled me to give a small voice for all the people who are affected by inherent- and acquired- disabilities who, to a large extent, have to suffer in silence.”

Quotes of
the Month

None is more impoverished than the one who has no gratitude. Gratitude is a currency that we can mint for ourselves, and spend without fear of bankruptcy.
— Fred De Witt Van Amburgh

I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars. —Og Mandino

To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven.
— Johannes Gaertner

Every man who possibly can should force himself to a holiday of a full month in a year, whether he feels like taking it or not.
— William James

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
— Melody Beattie
