November 2005

Welcome to Judi Moreo’s Quarterly ezine, developed specifically for people who want to be the best they can be and enjoy much success in their lives!  Please feel free to forward this to associates, friends, and family!

Hello ,

Have you ever wondered why one person seems to get all the lucky breaks and others get none?   Why it is that some people seem to meet just the right people and others never do?  Why does one person become a millionaire, while another is broke?

Why do some athletes become Olympic stars and others never quite use their own full potential or get out of their hometown?  Why do some people have their own successful companies, while others can just never get ahead?  Why are some people in great relationships while others can’t seem to get along with anyone?

It’s all a result of the attitude that successful people have and the way in which they approach life.
So, what is attitude anyway?

Attitude is the outward expression of an inner feeling.  It’s a habit of thought. When a person seeks the good in any situation, he is considered to have a good attitude.  He almost unconsciously does creative things to seek a positive outcome.  With a negative attitude, he tries to get out of situations, either by procrastination or avoidance.

Some people will try to tell you that we are born with our attitudes.  That’s not true.  Attitudes come from the conditioning of our minds either by ourselves or others.  Our thoughts create our feelings.  Feelings bring about emotion.  Emotion is the intensity at which we go after something.  It is excitement, enthusiasm, drive, commitment, even obsession.  Emotions create the actions that we take.  And the actions that we take bring about the results we have in our lives.  So many people never think to relate their thinking to their results.  Remember, when you improve your thoughts, you improve your actions, and that improves your results.

Your positive attitude is your greatest asset.  Your thoughts shape your deeds, thus shaping your relationships with others.  With a positive attitude, you will discover that you will attract positive relationships in all the areas of your life and success will be yours.

[Mike Lipkin]

During the recent International Administrative Professionals Conference in San Diego, where she was both a conference presenter and Emcee of the entire event, Judi enjoyed the company of Ellen Ackerman, Conference Director; Mike Lipkin, motivational speaker and friend from South Africa, and Judy Geller, Conference Chairperson.  Mike is now living in Canada and available for work in the USA.  As both Judi and Mike specialize in "Attitude Adjustments", it was the perfect intro into Good Attitude month (October).

The Technical Assistance Research Institute’s survey on “Why Customers Do Not Return” tells us that customers quit doing business with us for the following reasons:

  • 1% Die
  • 3% Move Away from the Area
  • 5% Make Other Business Contacts
  • 9% Say Prices are Too High
  • 14% Say Merchandise Purchased was Inferior
  • 68% say They Switched to the Competitor Because of the Attitude of the Personnel

If 68% of the persons who do business with us leave because of the way they have been treated by someone they dealt with in our organization, isn’t it worth taking a look at this attitude issue?  What is attitude anyway?

Attitude is the outward expression of an inner feeling.  It’s a habit of thought.  It is the direction in which you lean.  If you lean “toward” something, you are considered to be positive toward it.  If you lean away from it, you are considered to have a negative attitude.

Attitudes come from the conditioning of our minds either by others or by ourselves.  Our thoughts create our feelings.  Feelings start our engines running.  Feelings bring about emotion.  Emotion is the intensity at which you go after something.  It is excitement, enthusiasm, drive, commitment, even obsession.  Emotions create the actions that you take.  And the actions that you take bring about the results you have in your life.  So many people never think to relate their thinking to their results.  Remember, when you improve your thoughts, you improve your actions, and that improves your results.

When you think of your customer as a valuable asset to your organization and your own position, you will create a positive attitude toward that customer.  If you think of him as a pain in the neck, it is very hard to be pleasant to him, much less assist him with his wants, needs, and/or expectations.  You’ll probably just wish he’d go away.

The customer will be able to tell which way you feel about him by your non-verbal messages and your tone of voice.  Make it a habit to have positive thoughts about the customers you deal with.

Your positive attitude is your greatest asset.  Your thoughts shape your deeds, thus shaping your relationships with others.  With a positive attitude, you will discover that you will attract positive relationships in all the areas of your life.

Training Your Entire Team On Site Builds Stronger Organizations

These learning programs will help your employees develop the positive attitudes that will keep your customers coming back:

Attitude Is A Choice

This highly interactive program will assist all your team members in developing the skills they need to be successful in all of their relationships. Whether they are in leadership or on the front line, learning proven strategies for working effectively with others will promote respect, build trust, and foster positive interpersonal interactions.

Let Judi teach your team members the skills they need to work more effectively with others, improve their communication, increase their effectiveness, build stronger work teams, overcome frustration and enjoy more success in their lives.

Conquer the Brain Drain

Are you creative?  Are you sure?  Are you using your creative energy to make your business more successful? If you’re on a team – or especially if you manage one – learning to think creatively and teaching others to do so will boost productivity, improve morale and inspire your team to greater success.

Short deadlines, downsizing, increased expectations and the need to do more with less all contribute to “status quo” thinking.  Get over it.  Solving business problems and generating new ideas and strategies can’t be accomplished using the same old brain-draining methods.  If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting the same old results.  If you want to build an innovative, creative, problem-solving team, then you need a new approach.  Let Judi show you how!

Delivering Unbeatable Customer Service

While it is widely understood that constantly providing excellent customer service is the key for success, it is a rare organization that actually practices service excellence on a DAILY basis. Your ability to acquire and retain customers is vital to your organization's long-term success. You need an unconditional organization-wide commitment to exceptional service.

Judi’s program provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to develop a commitment to service, no matter what position they hold in the organization.  Remember, the future of your organization depends on your employee’s ability to provide consistent service excellence.  Judi can get them to want to do it!

How to Deal With Difficult People

You encounter difficult people every day. This intense and highly interactive workshop will teach you the coping strategies to deal with them more effectively. You will learn how to get information and gain understanding, while neutralizing negative and hostile encounters.

In addition, you will learn how to keep your cool and stay in control and not let the intimidating tactics of others upset you. By the end of the workshop, you will recognize and understand difficult personality types and learn how to self-correct your own behavior!

Cultivating High Self Esteem

How you see yourself is how the world will see you. The more you like yourself, the better you are at everything you put your mind to. Everything you do to build and reinforce your own self-esteem increases the amount of satisfaction and happiness in life.

In this uplifting workshop, you will gain insights into the major causes of low self-esteem. You will learn how to change your thought patterns to control negative thinking and begin to think of yourself as you want to be rather than as you are. You will learn real-life, workable techniques that will show you how to make positive and lasting improvements in your self-image. In addition you will gain the tools and skills to improve your personal effectiveness.

When you leave this workshop, you will leave with a complete set of tools that will enhance the quality of your life.
